What happens when someone disappears from society without notice? I often wonder, and this question has triggered my obsession for posters of missing people and pets around the world.

“Gone missing” is a collection of posters made and spread by relatives, friends and pet owners who are in despair.

As a communication tool, are they effective? Are the portraits a good visual representation?  

I can’t stop wondering what the effect of the loss is on the lives of those who post the bills. The people who wrote the texts, decided on a cash compensation, selected the image. I imagine their restless lives dedicated to the search.
