This video is part of the documentary “Paso” that features the work of Brazilian musician and composer André Rocha.

André’s musical performance, playing an amazing 9 string Brahms guitar, has the capacity to take us into a journey through the mountains of Minas Gerais, in Brazil. Together with his music, we discover an unique Baroque architecture, landscapes, the presence of musicality on religion and a refined and original art scene.

In this extract, we also witness the designing concept and construction of a 9 strings Brahms Guitar. The creative genius of luthier Paulo Marcos, a real master in his craft, unfolds in front of our eyes in the pace of his obstinacy and struggles.

The sound starts in the wood.
