Hubei, The Fall Of A Village
A city is like a living element that transforms organically by the force of human ambitions or the limits imposed by nature. Shenzhen only officially became a city in 1979, incorporating small villages inside its Economic Zone. Nowadays it’s a vibrant, fast paced, rhythmic city where migrant workers from all over China coexist and built built their lives. Hubei is one of the few remaining ‘urban villages’ in Shenzhen, swallowed up by the city, it is a link to the past. The Hubei neighbourhood is considered a treasure and a pride of the people of Shenzhen.
